This 15-second bumper for National Geographic Kids was storyboarded and animated with fun in mind. The playful color pallete and the fast-paced transformations help communicate the sense of wonder and imagination at a speed that speaks to the core audience: kids.

The brief for this project was very loose and required a very short turnaround — it was crucial to have a clear ly defined idea with stages outlined and decided as quickly as possible. Since the runtime was so brief, simple illustrations provided a visual connection with as little noise as possible. The jewel-tone color blocks helped create a solid figure ground relationship that children find appealing. The quick-change blur is an exercise in the illusion of motion and color, and was created in AfterEffects.
